  1. Nice podcast with great information on Ed McBain. Enjoyed it. If you ever come across his 1976 novel GUNS grab it. I couldn't put it down.

    1. Thanks for the kind words. Is "Guns" a stand alone novel or part of the series?

  2. Timely episode. I just finished Cop Hater and really liked it. Now to search out other police procedurals etc. Didn’t know about Fuzz. I’m hoping that’s streaming somewhere.

  3. Wow! The new audio equipment made a huge difference. I tend to not really care about audio quality in a podcast, as long as I can hear it okay. It's just people speaking so the quality isn't all that important to me. However, I do have to say that the differences was noticeable. You both sound so mellifluous and sophisticated. I pictured you previously in some thin-walled cheaply-furnished hotel room wearing threadbare bathrobes. Now you are in a gentlemen's club wearing tuxedoes, the walls of ancient hardwood, covered in rich, sound-absorbing tapestries.

I am way behind in listening to your podcasts, slowly making my way through them, thus the lateness of this comment. There is a lot of info to digest, so I like to take them slowly. Really good stuff and I threw you a couple of bucks so you can maintain your new higher standard of living. Joking aside, you put a lot of effort and deliver solid content, so it is well worth it!

I am not a huge McBain/Hunter fan, though will read his early stuff in a pinch without complaint. He tends to have a nasty, misogynist streak in his books that turns me off. I would recommend that you check out The Spike Heel (written under the name Richard Marsten) which is a crazy, Freudian corporate thriller about a battle for power in a shoe company.
